The Travel Speak’s Featured Travelers : Daisy and Julian
We have a new story for you all in our series of traveler stories. This post is from a young adventurous couple from Manhattan, USA.
Here they are sharing a short travelogue from their trip to the beautiful Amalfi Coast, Italy.
Introducing Daisy and Julian (unedited)
Daisy and Julian met in 2014, and got engaged in 2016. We are adventurers and thrill-seekers at heart. We started traveling together right away. We live in Manhattan, where we spend our time in between adventures.
Before traveling full-time, Daisy was a lawyer in New York City, spending days and nights staring at two fluorescent computer screens in an office where no seasoned interior decorator had ever been. She lived for weekends and vacations. Julian, who is in the hotel industry and travels often, reminded her that the world was far more grand that what she was experiencing in New York as an attorney. So, she left my career behind in order to travel the world and tell stories through photographs. Daisy and Julian have always believed in less hustle, and more life, and try to live that motto everyday.
List of places they have traveled:
- Costa Rica
- South Africa
- The Hamptons
Our all-time favorite trip thus far was our safari to South Africa (photos and brief story featured on our blog!). The safari was our first trip together, and was an amazing adventure. We are always looking for aesthetic, adventurous and cultural vacation destinations, and South Africa met all of those requirements! We saw each one of the Big 5 animals on safari, and loved the experience of being out on safari at sunrise and sunset everyday, as well as seeing animals hunt other animals in the wild. The food was also unreal!
Daisy and Julian’s Travel Speak – Travelogue (unedited)
Our gorgeous vacation to the Amalfi Coast was best summed up in three words: pizza, pasta and prosecco!
Julian and I ate our way down the Amalfi coast, beelining for the restaurants and tables overlooking the cliff’s edge to the famed rugged shoreline of beaches, colorful umbrellas and cobblestone streets.
Between bites, we boated along the coast of Capri, hiked down what felt like thousands of stairs to quaint beaches (and back up – ouch), strolled through pastel-colored fishing villages and among lemon groves.
Boating off the coast of Capri was a highlight of our trip! Our captain stocked his gorgeous Fratelli Aprea with everything we could want – endless prosecco, Italian white wine, Tarallis (my nonna called them “pepper cookies”) and cheese and charcuterie that could have lasted for days. Our captain was a master boatsman, cutting in and out of narrow caves and through rock formations, by the Blue Grotto and gave us a private grand tour of the beautiful coast of Capri!
If the boating wasn’t awesome enough to make the whole vacation worth it, we did WAY more, including visiting Ischia, Amalfi, Ravello, Positano and the rest of Capri.
Top travel tip : Pack light! We only bring carry-on luggage, no matter how long the trip is!
