Hi I’m Christina. I’m a South African girl who loves food, wine and most of all, to travel.
I’ve started my travels a few years ago and I’m working my way to every continent in the world. I work full time in hospitality, so being able to travel every now and then is of great help with my job. I’ve recently started blogging about my travels too.

Christina’s Travel Speak – Travelogue (unedited)

On this trip I visited Thailand. We started off in Phuket, which is very touristy, but fun for a night out on the town. We took a kayaking trip to hidden coves and explored caves in the middle of the Andaman sea. Don’t miss out on the Thai boxing matches when taking a visit to bangla road and be careful of the lady boys. They might look fabulous, but they are fierce as ever.

From there we went off to Phi Phi island for two nights. From there we took an island hopping trip for the day where we visited places such as Maya bay. Again this was very touristy, but we were lucky enough to make some friends with the locals and were treated to grilled squid, prepared right there on the beach with the best chilly sauce I’ve ever had.

Our 3rd stop was Krabi. This I would definitely recommend to others. Much less tourists and so many small beaches to lounge the days away. This is a great place to be if you want to do more snorkeling, diving, rock climbing or any other adventure sport. A visit to the Tiger Cave Temple is a must when in the area.

We ended our vacation in Bangkok. After 2 weeks of traveling the hustle and bustle of the city was a bit much, but it was worth taking a stop there just to go bargain hunting at the night markets. Do not miss out on the floating market when in Bangkok.

A few tips when traveling to Thailand

  • Do not over pack. You can buy clothing for a bargain almost anywhere
  • Get proper bug repellent. Mosquitoes are everywhere
  • Get a water proof bag for your phone. Just trust me
  • Avoid dark alleys and taking photos with the lady boys. They will haggle you for money
  • Always have some water with you. The heat and cocktails will dehydrate you
